Geitz to lead Firebirds again

Allora’s Laura Geitz has once again been given the nod to lead the Queensland Firebirds in the ANZ Championship.
Geitz has retained her vice-captaincy role with Lauren Nourse as captain and Keirra Trompf and Natalie Medhurst also a part of the leadership group.
Geitz had a stellar season last year, winning her first ANZ Championship title in an undefeated series, and gold at the World Netball Championships in Singapore.
On top of this, she received a number of personal accolades, including the Queensland Firebirds Players’ Player and Holden Player of the Year awards.
Geitz is hoping the Firebirds will be the first team to win a second ANZ Championship premiership.
Their season-opening game is on April 1 in Brisbane against the Melbourne Vixens.
